Becoming friends with "not-a-date" guy

Remember him?

Yeah. I had pretty much written him off. So much so that I saw him at an event and blew him off. But then I felt guilty (he's still a human being). So we made plans to meet for dinner.

My game plan going to dinner was (and still is): this guy is a kid. I have absolutely no interest in dating him. But it is good to remain on good terms. He seems like a good egg, regardless.

So wouldn't you know, the minute he sensed this he was all about me. Total Mr. Flirt McGurt.
Every story I told was "so interesting" and he was all we should really spend more time together this summer, I mean "totally".

This only resulted in me being even less into him.

Now when I see him he is always very excited to see me. And he stands in that personal space usually only reserved for those who have sucked face. I back up but he steps back in. It's completely comical.

I have no interest in men who only want me when I don't want them. I deserve much better. We all do.
